I guess you Welsh guys and gals have never watched rugby league and maybe not old enough to recall the many Welsh Rugby Union who came North to make their fortunes in the 1950's/60's, including the great Jim Sullivan, Jonathan Davies and many more............

Jonathon Davies didn`t defect in the 50`s OR 60`s. I remember Dai Watkins and his brother Stuart defecting in the 50`s. They were branded as traitors by the people and press of Newport. Dai has done a wonderful job at NRC since though.:yess::D

And the Welsh defensive coach is an ex rugby league player unless I'm very much mistaken:yess::yess::yess::yess::yess::yess:

There is a lot to be admired about league.

That's the fella - by his own admission, future Wigan coach!

Let's not forget Jason Robinson, Andy Farrell, Va'aiga Tuigamala, Freddie Tuilagi, Wendell Sailor, to name a few more.

I know it was a long time ago, but in 1996 (?) there was the two match challenge thingy with Bath which produced a far closer contest at unionHQ than the one at Maine Road, and the Middlesex Sevens win (emulated by Bradford Bulls a few years later)

Sorry about the age bit Dai but I saw most of them play in my youth and having played both codes as an amateur I still enjoy both, especially after England's wonderful victory yesterday (not a patch on today's match but...........)
