Sandy is correct on the BMW stance . I have worked with BMW as a supplier for years , and they are a nightmare ! This is the way it must be. A lot of time with no reason - but they pay my wage :blue thumb: I searched the Mini forums etc , the change is a common one.

Thats not what I would have expected. At the very least, I would have expected that the suspension for run flat tyres would be softer than the suspension for conventional tyres. Options have a tendency to include more things than we expect.

As regards automotive forums. One of the biggest problems that they have is that they tend to be populated by amateurs that pretend to know a lot, but in reality are only repeating things that they have read online. They tend to perpetuate car myths, so information they post should be at the very least taken with a pinch of salt until proven right. Ask a question. Do you really think that an amateur working on cars in his or her spare time, quite often on a limited budget knows more than a qualified engineer with a huge budget and almost limitless information?

Ooooo , I can tell you some tales about automotive engineers and BMW ones at that
To be fair , I only deal with the manufacturing engineers not the design/specification engineers. One that springs to mind from a company of 4 letters that begins with F and ends in D. "Your 22mm sealing plug will not fit in our 19mm core hole " :gaah:
