We've lost about 130 bean plants, and seven courgette plants.

We then started using slug pubs, seven of them and got almost three thousand slugs in the first week. We're now catching about 120 a day in the pubs but Mrs S also goes on slug patrol early morning and evening and gets over 100 a day,

We've planted out more courgettes and more beans and they're OK so far. More French beans going in today.

Someone here suggested the "pubs" might be attracting the slugs?

With those numbers I would have used nematodes. Not cheap but a lot less effort.

Thanks but with the size of our garden nematodes are not really an option. :noidea:

My runner beans are being decimated. Hardly any plants left from 10 plants put out in the ground a few days ago.
