      We had that on/off power for a long time, so we made the house so we had heating and we can cook with out the aid of power, the one thing i will have to get is a generater

              Hope to see you soon Sheal, sending you hugs... [​IMG] I have to say I loved it when our village was cut off for a week back in 83.. O/H hated it...!! :biggrin: I loved walking to the farm to get milk still warm from milking.. No electricity..!!! No phones... No TV Oil lamps & candles... :yay: It was fab.. I cooked on the old range in the kitchen, even baked bread in the oven on it.... Loved it all,, but not for everyone I know.. :sofa:

                Hi everyone I'm back!

                First, thanks to Zigs for relaying backwards and forwards between me and GC, mobile phone being my only connection with the outside world until now.

                Thank you to everyone for your support and kind wishes, it's good to be back even with a certain amount of frost bite. :heehee: Right now I have a very tentative web connection, so don't worry too much if I disappear up the internet flue pipe, sadly for you all I'll be back! :biggrin:

                A couple of references to the posts above.....

                Scrungee, I think you posted the Fast Show clip. Interestingly, caravans aren't allowed on the island, motorhomes only. :)

                Stephen, the picture of the chemist you posted is in my village. :)

                I have a load of pictures, some of which I will post for you on this thread shortly. Right, off to the weather thread, or need I bother? :heehee:
