Lager keg Dee, I thought it was one of those plastic water fountain things. Would my face have been red if I`d suggested that. [IMG] [IMG] Can you imagine the stick I would have had from John? [IMG] [IMG] I hope he burns a mean sausage. [IMG]

John the bbq idea using a keg hopefully doesn't catch on it's illegal to use them this way,I worked at a brewery they had a dedicated team whos job was to find missing kegs they used to find them in marinas used as mooring bouys as garden tubs etc some were just melted down for s****, millions of pounds a year are lost in stolen or missused kegs, hefty fines are metered out.

Borrowers. It is a genuine imitation lager keg. We have a very good (by that I mean cheap) metal workshop in town and I got them to build me it out of stainless steel sheets (the drum) and wrought iron (the frame). I thought it was a bargain at £60.

Actually you can occasionally get a genuine beer keg from breweries but they are really miles too big. Who would want an 80 gallon BBQ? Walnut is right to a point, in that normally breweries keep ownership of their own kegs and to take one is theft. But, for example, we had a brewery round here years ago called Roses They went bust and the receiver sold everything off, including the kegs. It's not just kegs that are 'illegal' to own if you have only bought the contents. It's the same situation with Hel's supermarket trolleys. They remain the property of the supermarket. So if you buy one get a receipt to prove you didn't pinch it

Well. I suppose GC being off-line did have it's brighter side. Just an update.

We've started glamming up that back wall and fence. Although I'm not fanatical about it I do like to recycle when I can so the new fencing is hand made from industrial pallets bought for a song from Scarborough's local friendly coach building company, Plaxton's.

So the planting up has started but won't look at it's best for a year or three yet.

Whoops. So busy putting the 'done' bit on forgot to post phase 4.

This is looking towards the sea and those of you in Yorkshire will know what is going on half a mile south. All the houses are being demolished before the sea does the work for them. The sea doesn't charge for demolition. :D

I can't believe how good it's looking already. The idea with the pallets is unusual, they look really great.

    Well done you [IMG]

Sarraceniac, why did you replace the fencing? Or was that your neighbours fence & you have put up your own? Just being nosey again ;)

    cheers

Borrowers very clever of you. If you look back on how this started you will realise I did not bother with this area at all. The neighbour on the other side did and put up the old fencing. But I asked her if she minded if I replaced it. No problem. (Actually it was on my land anyway if we had to get nasty - which we didn't.)

Of course she was drunk at the time. But I think that mine looks far better, even on her side.

That breeze block wall should disappear (at least in summer) in a couple of years Paul. I've shoved in a Virginia creeper, a Boston ivy, a C. Armandii, a C. Nelly Moser, a C. Ville Lyon and a honeysuckle. Let them fight it out between them.
