Never tried Limewash, but happily use the Vitax Summer Cloud Greenhouse Shading about £5-6 in garden centers etc.

Goes on very easily with a big soft paintbrush and stays on all year, but just rubs off easily with a duster etc .

I'd use the neutral cure silicone on polycarbonate, it sticks better and if you use the low modulus it allows for greater expansion and contraction.
It can be a pain to remove if you get it where you dont want it.
The acetic cure one, I find doesn't stick that well to plastics.
Its not really a glazing silicone, more for sealing around baths and kitchens, sticks better to ceramics etc. and with less movement as its high modulus.

Having said that I think there is some pretty thin polycarbonate supplied with greenhouses that is not particully rigid.

The 10mm thick stuff is pretty good I find.

You're probably right about the differences in products here and there.

I used the clear tape that is people buy to adhere the clear window plastic. You probably don't have the same stuff over there but let me find it and post the stuff I used... here it is. It is a lousy picture but it really is clear. A good value for 100 feet. This would be about 6 or 7 of your pounds to purchase.

        Hi,

Think this will be similar to what @CanadianLori means, though never used it ourselves.

Yup, @ricky101, that is it. It is wide enough to have nearly and each going up both side and I cut it a 1/2" too long so that I could squish the two sides together to make a total seal.
