    I would recommend commodo free, i've had it on my laptop for almost 2 years and not one single problem :)

    I will have to bash McAfee but support Norton. MS Essential Security has very poor record. AVG or AVAST do have free versions but, sorry, they do not match the quality of their paid for editions.
