How do you harvest the seeds from penstemon, I have several varieties but have not thought about taking seeds from them?

Badsal - if you allow the blossom to pass, the seed pod will fill out. You need to do this with the first flowering - in the UK it is pretty unlikely that a second flush penstemon will be early enough to ripen the seed.

Generally, most penstemmons are notoriously cross pollinating so will probably not come true if you have grown them near each other, but you might come up with something more interesting. The easiest way to propagate if you want the same plant is by cutting or division.

At last Ive got a bit more organised about my seeds, and discovered, as I suspected, that I have FAR too many to use - and quite a few duplicates

As far as flower seeds go, I have lots of ââ?¬Å?cottage gardenââ?¬Â sorts, annuals, perennials and a few biennials, just ask, and chances are Iââ?¬â?¢ll have some I can send out.

    Herbs:-

    Lovage
    Borage
    Hyssop
    Dill
    Fennel
    Bronze fennel
    Oregano
    Sorrel
    Sage
    Rosemary
    Marjoram
    Rocket
    Chives
    Basil
    Coriander
    Parsley (plain and curled leaves)
    Thyme
    Mint (dont know which, sorry!)

    Salad / veg:-

    Tomatoes - gartenperle
    - moneymaker
    - gardeners delight
    - sungella
    - super marmande
    - golden sunrise
    - ailsa craig
    lettuce - lollo rossa
    - Lakeland
    Leaf salad - spicy mixed
    Radish - flamboyant
    - scarlet globe
    cardoon
    swiss chard
    spring onion - white Lisbon
leek - autumn giant 2 argenta
runner beans - Hammonds dwarf scarlet
    - enorma
    Onion - rijnsburger
    Turnip - snowball

Fancy, maybe it's better edit your address details from here and PM instead? Just a heads up.

    Thanks Pete! :D

    Hi, Fancy!
HAve just parcelled up the seeds you wanted, and have put in both types of runner beans, the dwarf and the enorma - should be one extreme to the other!!

Hope they work well for you. I've written the full names of the seeds, and the seed company, so if you want to check the sowing instructions, you can check up on the sites, partic re the leek, where they say to use water to "earth up"!

If anyone else wants any of the seeds, I still have some of most of them, although there's only enough for one more person for the lovage, leeks and swiss chard now.
