I've got a few pumpkins on my plants as well, but no male flowers to pollenate them

I have 3 epiphyllim seeds up this week. That's really good as I wanted to see if they'd grow before I bought some more.

I'll see that they grow into plants without me killing them before I grow more.

Just wanted to see if I could get something from the seed. I planted 20 of them - so far I seem to have one 'seedling' although I'm a bit suspicious that it might actually be an errant grass seed!!!!

While on the pineapple topic, does anyone have trouble cutting and peeling them, if so get a pineapple cutter from Lakeland Plastics, it is an amazing gadget, must be based on an industrial design, cuts the rings out and cores it in one go leaving the outer skin and has three sizes of cutters [IMG]

Pumpkins not under quite the correct heading now but will continue as original posting in this thread.

With all this hot weather and despite frequent watering my gooseberry sized pumpkin has shrivelled away.

There are signs of more to come but very disappointing at the moment.

Anybody got any decent sized pumpkins yet?

I am growing some for our local allotments competition and they are getting a nice size with constant watering. Now they have had even more liquid refreshment they shpould be getting even bigger, though I have been told for the heavy weight competition they should weigh over 1,000 pounds or was that KG's

Hopefully jjordie yours will send out more flowers,to grow on.I haven't needed to pollinate mine,I think the bees have done it for me.

Got lots of growth and female flowers jjordie, but pollenation is not happening at the moment, no male flowers to speak of.
Hope its not an all female variety. :D :D :D
