I planted the daff bulbs I found lurking in my garage, and then started off my first seed-sowing of the year!

    I've sown.....

    Tomato (Gartenperle)
Antirrhinum 2 cultivars, Braun-blamquetii and Black Prince
    Cineraria maritima
a pack of Penstemon, I think it was Harlequin mixed,
    Dichondra Silver Falls,
    Anagallis monelii
    and
Laurentia stargazer (very tiny seeds, those ones!)

They're on the window-sill in one of those propagators that have 7 little containers.
    So, fingers crossed!

The're the next ones on my list to get going, Blackthorn.....

I saw in AG that they're recmmending sowing quite a lot of plants for hanging baskets and beds at the moment, to give them a head start, and some of those are ones I've mentioned, but quite a few aren't in my "late January" box - think I might try it out, though. Their list includes petunias, achillea, stipa, and loads of others.

Some more of mine are up now, the Antirrhinums and penstemons! And now two of the cannas are planted up as they had started to germinate.

I'll be ready to move quite a few on to the frost-free greenhouse soon, since I don't want them to get all tall and straggly, and get another batch on the go, some from that list, and some others I have lining up!

I hadn't thought of doing the mina lobata yet, Waco, but maybe I will now..... [IMG]

Ooh I think I might do mine, although space is at a premium as I haven't got enough bricks for my impromptu coldframe yet!!!

Today I'm going to sow Black Eyed Susan, (do I have to do anything like soak them first???)Antirrhinum braun -blanquetti - both for my pots and baskets.
For my borders I'm going to sow some Agastache anisata and some of the Solanums that Pete so kindly sent me.
I've also got to prick-out some Melica altissima atropurpureas that I only sowed last week and they're already 2" high!!

Dendy, some Mandevillia are up. The Echium Pininana 'Snow Tower' sown last month are getting their true leaves. I love this time of year!

So do I blackthorn - everything holds such promise.

WM - I have some agastanche that I sowed last autumn outside and then brought in as I though the hardiness could be a bit suspect - the plants I left out look OK though so don't know why I bothered.

Windy - I didn't soak the Black-eyed Susans - they did fine without - and the T+M book doesn't give any other instructions than that the compost should be kept moist.

Blackthorn - that's great - must sow mine!!

Pricked out geraniums and cauliflowers. Sowed dahlias, cabbage. Moneymaker and Greek tomatos. Petunias tomorrow. Six French bean seeds I saved from last year and sowed in wet tissue in the kitchen have all germinated so I know the rest will be viable for sowing later.

Yes wall to wall blue. Even had to discard the fleece while digging part of the veg plot. Soil is still very cold though as is to be expected in early Feb.

Winter isn't over yet though. We could still see a cold spell.
