Hi Scotkat. Much depends on if you have sufficient space to grow the plants on indoors before planting out if you are growing HHAs or tender veg, or if you plan on heating a GH for a month or two.
The stuff I'm sowing in the propagator at present will be moved into a bigish heated porch for a week or so before going into a heated GH (toms, cucs and peppers etc)or polytunnel (bedding plants). Melons, ridge cucs more peppers will spend a bit of time in the GH waiting for the polytunnel to warm up a bit.

My electric propagators are in conservatory at the moment with lids on but dont want them to get leggy.

When should I take lid off and leave for bottom heat.

My greenhouses are unheated but also get alot sun.
Strawberries are in trench in greenhouse.

Blueberries first time growing in containers .

Courgettes I like to grow and will have lettuce.

    Flowers for my containers.

Notice you are not too far from me.Hi

We use an indoor propagtor too sometimes. I usually gradually increase ventilation by opening the two top vents before finally removing the top. Once the seedlings have started they don't really need much bottom heat.
I've lost more seedlings due to "cooking" than cold!

Sown today... Eucalyptus Globulus, Eucalyptus Gunnii Snowdrop, Cineraria Hybrida Brilliant and Royalty.

I was sorting out my seed sowing programme (at work this morning) and this is what I have to sow, although, obviously not all in February. I have a lot of hardy perennials to grow from seed this year as well as the usual summer bedding. The tubes contain pelleted seed which is much easier to sow by hand than raw seed.

Eucalyptus from seed? I didn't think councils would do that, Strongy! I know they grow pretty quickly, but how long will it take for them to get to a size you could plant them?

Yes, burpless cucumbers appeal to me too, LoL! BTW, 4 of the canna seeds you sent me germinated, and are currently in little pots, and I'm waiting for signs of stirring in the compost....... :D

Dendy, they will be 2 to 3 ft high by June ready for planting out, at least Globulus will, and they will be composted in October.
Waco and LoL, it will be manic from next month, everything is done by hand, no seeed sowing machines no potting machines, just us 3 or 4 robots so if you're down this way and are bored ...... :D

Excelentissimo, dendro, you've done better than me with them, but I was trying them for fun and I have a wonderful clump anyway. Good luck and I do hope you really get them going.

Well, strongy, everything done by hand .. I just won't comment here ... especially if you are asking if anyone else is bored ...
