Oh yes... that's what the previous owners said to me... what a whopper fib! The size of the garden is one of the main reasons I'm considering a move... it is more of a chore than a pleasure. Saying that, it looks wonderful when I'm on top of things, but it suffered badly when I broke my arm. I would use a gardener whilst the house is on the market.

It's just under 2 acres... this short video shows a diagonal walk through it, skipping the ground level and the wilderness parts. It is VERY hilly! Notice the beloved rascal dog isn't allowed into the garden without permission lol:

      Wow! Lovely garden.

Unfortunately, I don't think you can persuade people that it's easy to look after. you'll need to find a purchaser who wants a large garden. If the house is also quite big you should be able to find someone who can employ a gardener.

The house isn't anything too special Shiney, location is quite pretty though. And Redstar, I know you have a soft spot for Abi :).

Cor, what I could do with 2 acres:wub2:

Stuck my house on with House Tree this afternoon. About £480, thats the fee for the no percentage package. Theres a man coming round to take pics & do a floorplan. Within a few days of that it will be on every known website in the world and a few extraterrestial ones just in case:biggrin:

Looks like they use rightmove, does anyone bother with any others?

My house was on Rightmove, that's the first place people look. Put it on the market in January last year, was sold in less than a month. I don't think people are bothered by how the garden is looking, just the size of it, anything else they can change. Kazzie & Zigs I think your properties will sell with no problems at all.

No doubt I'll shed a few tears when I move because I love being in the garden... but... I want a life other than weeding, digging, planting and sweeping leaves!

Hope you get a good result Zigs.

They do, I couldn't see a way of using rightmove without being an estate agent, and someone told me it would cost over £800 if I could.

When wife and I were looking, as is typical we saw quite a few properties before we chose this one.

Some of them were nice, but not worthy of any story really. Went to see one, which looked from the outside to be ideal and was in a good area at a good price, ticked all the boxes. Got invited in, as we had an appointment. The young woman showed us through her untidy hallway into the chaotic lounge where her husband was in his arm chair eating his chips, beans and fried egg tea while the kids made chaos. We didn't even look around half the house, I could see the wife felt as uncomfortable as I did so I just thanked the lass and told her the estate agent will be in touch.

There was another house on our list of ones to see that I didn't even go to. We set off for our appointment, and as we approached the street, a load of kids (literally kids, about 8 year old) were lined up watching us, stones in hands ready to throw at the car. I just calmly stopped the car, turned it round, and took us off to my mam's for a nice cuppa.

Have been through a progression of 5 properties through married life and have never had reason to regret any of them. Very lucky I guess, and the day after any one of the moves, the former rapidly left my mind and it felt as though I had never lived there. I could drive by and not even think of it.
I wish both Kazzie and Zigs good fortune in the new chapter ahead,
                  Jenny
