It does annoy me that people already pay tax and vat when they buy stuff from the shops so why should they have to pay tax on the stuff they sell on ebay or at car boot sales.Mind you £130,000 was a bit excessive me thinks:D

I have a lot of stuff that I could do with getting rid of but would rather give it to cat charities who are raising much needed funds, rather than go through the hassel of trying to sell it on ebay or at car boots cause knowing me I would get conned by some of the scrotes that i have read about on other forums that are about on ebay:mute:

Sounds good, I'm going to need extra cash when I retire.

    Oh. Maybe not!

Personally I wouldn't add irrelevant words like "rose" when I'm selling a palm tree as it makes a lot of stuff come up in searches which I find extremely annoying when I'm searching!

Indeedy. Do you suppose anyone actually searches for "BARGIN!!!!"?

This has never happened to me but then, I always describe things in painstaking detail. If an item sells for more than about £15 I always send it with signed-for delivery so nobody can claim a refund if it didn't arrive.

Nice for the cats, but really, Ebay is great fun if you take sensible precautions. Start small so you don't have to worry about losing much.

Ebay is largely based on trust, and I see it as the perfect place for charity...

I have been buying and selling on Ebay since 2003 . Luckily without one hint of a problem . I have sold golf clubs , a leather suite , an Alfa Romeo , and a set of French Windows ! Never had a problem with buyer collect , I always put a time limit on when it can be collected , so I say I will be in the house until 8pm for example ( I also say the house will not be empty ). So you are not twiddling your fingers waiting for them. Describe your goods fully , and state the buyer is bidding to buy not haggle. Now two of my friends have had nightmares both buying and selling guitars on Ebay , maybe musicians ain't that trustworthy :WINK1:
