So how come T&M (international website) will send seed Austria? Is it RM's rules or Austria's?

I don't know the current rules but it used to be OK to send seeds but not plants.

With bringing plants into this country:- no plant could have soil attached to the roots but, otherwise, you could bring in all plants apart from those on two lists, one was of prohibited plants and one of restricted plants. Prohibited were not allowed under any circumstances and restricted were allowed if you had a licence but had to be declared.

Mrs Shiney used to have a licence but quite some time ago they did away with the need for the licence as the customs officers hadn't the faintest idea what they were looking at anyway :dunno: . We used to write out a list of the plants we were bringing in, go through the Red Channel, show her licence, give them the list, declare that they weren't on the prohibited list and were allowed straight through. The rules stated that we had to keep the plants in quarantine for two weeks or until we got the approval through the post to be able to take them out of quarantine (whichever was the sooner).

They stopped the need for the licence but kept the lists and customs were supposed to check any plants brought in.

I don't know what they do now as we don't bring in plants anymore.
