If you believe anything Richard Tice says, more fool you. The 2 nasty Parties trying to out compete each other for nastiness.

I don’t find it to surprising that there are Muslims who support Reform, there were Jews who supported Hitler.

I was made redundant in 2010 along with many others, also the UK was still recovering from the financial crisis. It was bad then, what do you know different @ViewAhead ?

We love Jews at Reform too since you've mentioned them, we're not like the Labour Party!

Yeah, probably best not to mention Jews and the labour party at the same time.

Indeed, the financial crash was a huge crisis ... and the Tory response, austerity, baked in the harms for a generation and beyond. I think you only have to look at housing insecurity and food bank use now to see that announcing things are better than in 2010 ignores reality ... except for the wealthy, who are hugely, massively, enormously better off now.

Politics is a dirty game, for sure. I think the electorate deserves better. I remember seeing a prog about all the behind the scenes backstabbing etc that went on before May was elected leader. What made me furious, absolutely steaming, was that all this was going on on our time. MPs get paid to do a job for us, not spend their days plotting and scheming and briefing against each other.

Perhaps Starmer's wife has an opinion on the subject.

Thanks but I don't see things worse now. Yes we have more visible food banks which is a good thing people are helping those that had previously struggled exacerbated by the pandemic. As for the the wealthy getting wealthier, that's nothing new. What would you propose to stop that? Communism in all its forms certainly doesn't help wealth redistribution and taxing them would make them leave the country, like it or not many of the wealthy drive our economy, providing jobs.

How many of the wealthy actually invest their money in UK industry and infrastructure rather than houses they don't need and useless trinkets and artworks to impress their peers?

The wealthier do always get wealthier, in that assets make excellent returns, but the rate at which this is happening has accelerated enormously since 2010, both here and in the US. I am not in favour of communism. I would like to see a very simplified tax system, taking up no more than one side of A4 and easy enough for a 10 yr old to calculate. I would like an exit tax that is the same rate as income tax, so there is no benefit to off-shoring. I would make tax avoidance impossible. On housing, I would only allow UK residents living here permanently (10 months per yr) to own residential property. I would like to see all homes brought back into use, with AirBnBs subject to a registration system and the numbers limited to maintain a balance between these and available rentals.

There are so many things that could be done to slow the drain of resources to one small elite group. Getting back what they already have accumulated is tricky. Changing the rules to curb the trend is doable.

It was definitely closer to "In The Thick Of It" ... with Gavin Williamson in the Malcolm Tucker role. ;)
