Separate Moan Thread About The Election

Sadly, that doesn't always work - I have a colleague who has four kids at schools spread all over the place. His wife walks one to school, he then has to drop another off at a school open early enough to accommodate and then drive miles (circa 6 from memory) to drop the other two off at another. When there is a school event or something after school (music, dance classes etc), it is utter chaos.

It was easy in my day - you went to the nearest school, but not now. We even have dedicated school bus routes that will carry hundreds of the little darlings to school from miles away.

 

I sort of agree, but then you read things like this:



Since that was written this morning, there has been another murder (19 year old, Finsbury Park); three of those stabbings were on the same day and all within five miles of my house.

Bearing in mind that I was the guy who used to take all the drunks and neds home on a Friday and Saturday night, used to work nights in bus garages and bus stations with little more defence than a heavy radio, and never bothered my arse... yet nowadays, I don't like being out after dark myself, so I can see why parents are reluctant.

 

Biden probably thinks the UK floats in his bathtub....

 

Indeed, however be under no illusion that the scroats are out on the streets, armed, in daylight. Mostly they are looking for easy thefts and targeting retailers, but not exclusively. The fact that this sort of thing is happening, most often unchallenged, in our streets in broad daylight... well, it is understandable that folks get jittery when it comes to the safety of their kids.

 

Country has gone to hell in a handbasket.
