There is more space in that, than there is in the house we currently rent. Nothing wrong with it at all - except the site fees and restrictions.

I had a problem few years ago, Where I was to loose my house that I bought sixty years ago
(Finished mortgage eight years ago) Golden wedding day divorce ? Was my gift from her!

I searched everywhere and all I could afford was a seven year old static caravan thing
Next problem was, You could only buy from the site itself, you could only sell from the site itself and any static over ten years old was to be scrapped by the site and replaced by yourself
Then the smaller problem of £5k a year for site fee's, grass cut, rubbish removal and black water

I managed to keep my house even though all my pension fund had gone to the lady,?

I am managing fine now, Though I must admit Gentlemen, it is bloody hard work to keep and maintain a home, cleaning, cooking, and getting the shopping for groceries and haberdashery in
    :-)

It looked quite good but I didn't look at what the restrictions are. Site fees didn't seem too bad seeing how much a mortgage on the place would be.

I wonder whether the price may be somewhat lower because of how near it is to Sellafield.

Of course, it would also be a matter of what work opportunities there are around there.

Anybody else wondering about the environmental footprint of these elections. With all the travelling around candidates do, the number of flyers, posters and leaflets many of which go straight in the bin.

If there is a good school near them Pete they will be used as accommodation addresses to get there kids into it. This was happening when I lived in an OAP area in Ayrshire. This jacks up prices.

There are few lenders would give a mortgage on that sort of place as it is not a conventional build, plus they'd still want a chunk as a deposit.

I would like to know what Labour is going to do about crime, which is our biggest concern down our road.

I heard yesterday that our neighbour 4 doors away had their two cars stolen. Masked men turned up on motorbikes.

They accessed the back of the bungalow and threw a boulder through their bedroom window as they slept. They entered the bedroom and demanded the keys.

Both cars had trackers and were later recovered in a nearby rough area.

My neighbours are now having to install smash proof glass in their windows.

Another neighbour has had 2 caravans stolen, the latest was recovered down in Essex on a gypsy site, because it had a tracker.

But the level of violence is increasing and we thought we lived in a good area.

Restrictions tend to be, over 50's only, no children, except when visiting.
I would say nobody on the site originates from the area, most will have purchased the property outright, with some having enough equity leftover allowing them to retire. A couple did work for me part time, now retired, they also purchased right out.

I would say, very few will have needed to take out a mortgage, anyone that did, it probably wasn't much. Very few that I know on the site work, the ones that did was probably to keep them selves occupied rather than for financial reasons.

Site fees on these sites will vary, location and size of plot. The ones on the two links I provided vary from £ 140/250 pcm. The larger the dwelling, garage and garden size, the higher the site fee. Also higher fees can also be down to where it is sited, some on the site in our village will have a lovely view of the Irish Sea, with a more open area compared to the other ones.

If you find out can you tell Starmer? :heehee:

I expect they'll dismantle anything the Tories put in place then spend 3 years deciding what to replace it with but not make a final decision until after the next election

I agree. The problem is any party not on the side of the wealthy could never get voted in. And if by some miracle it did, regime change would be swiftly organised. The moneyed have all the power effectively. Wherever in the world a party on the side of ordinary people has risen to power, it has been quickly quashed, sometimes from within (with outside help) and sometimes with more blatant meddling (assassinations, coups, invasions).

If Farage is what we have to look forward to, we are doomed, but it might solve the population crisis, people of talent would be queueing to leave.
Care homes would close overnight, over 70% of staff are foreign.
No idea how we would staff the NHS, on my ICU, nearly 40% of staff were from overseas, and all our recruiting was done from abroad, no one suitable in the UK.
I don't hate many people, ex NDN and then Farage.
