My camera... oh dear... its actually a mini dv camcorder, Canon MVX 250i that takes stills. Great for use when a flash would otherwise spoil things and with a 18x zoom, I dont have to get that close. Just switch the focus to manual and click away. No extras except a skylight filter to protect the lens.

And my apologies to Steve B and the shrew for my ignorance lol.

Ickleweed love your pictures - I've tried to get a good picture of a dragonfly. Here are my submissions - not much wildlife except for the snail.

At the risk of being a 'party-pooper' would it be impertinent of me to ask that folks reduced the size of their pics? I only have a dial-up connection and it's taking ages to download all these great pictures! (great as in more ways than one!)

    Thank you so much!

I seem to remember it should be 600 mp - but I agree some are too large - maybe a reminder. I too remember dial up very well.

[IMG] I think you will find that the image hosting sites automatically reduce the pictures if it is not done by the person uploading the pictures.
I remember when we only had dial up, pictures were an absolute nightmare to get, especially at busy times. Hope it gets better for you. :( [IMG]

    Fran,

You are correct, the image hosting sites do re-size, because they also take a battering (bandwidth wise), when someone views the picture. Chances are, that if you re-size before getting the pic hosted, the hosting site, still may host it the same size (it has happened to me before).

[IMG] I always resize my own 1st, before uploading, then you are sure. [IMG]

I resize to 600mp before uploading to photobucket. All my pictures should upload quickly on dial up because they are so small. I learned my lesson when sending pictures via email and finding that I could only see a sixth of the image on my screen. Also if you have an image you don't want anyone to claim as their own (it does happen) then it is far better to reduce the size and use the "save for web" option.

Just checked www.photobucket.com (the host I use).

Once pictures are uploaded, you can re-size on Photobucket by 25%,50% or 75%.

    Hope this helps
