I will have to be prepared if it is going to be a hard winter. Better start looking for fleece and stuff to wrap the olive tree in. It has to be protected, now that it has 3 olives on it that are the size of a pea. :gnthb:

 Well I am wondering about another severe winter as well Dai.. All the long range forecasts &are predicting cold & wet for the next 4 months at least...!!!!
Somehow & like the folklore idea of plants too, but also have to question it too...

I wouldn't worry too much about mollycoddling the olive trees, Shobhna and Doghouse. Mine was perfectly OK after weeks under a mini-snowdrift!

    Marley that forecast looks awful.

I can only hope they are doing their usual trick of forecasting what last winter was like with a few alterations just to make it look convincing.

Afterall, they didn't forecast the cold one before last because we had mild winters up until then.

They did forecast a scorching summer last year that never happened.

I think the track record is poor, so I not going to look.:p:lollol:

    Thermals at the ready.

Got a full shed of firewood ready, had a disasterous fuel bill of £21 last winter in the snow I couldn't get to my normal source of firewood & had to buy some.

Have we all got a sack of salt in now ? Don't leave it till everyone else wants one:idea:
