 I have Zig because if it does happen the Gulf stream would divert & we would go into an ice age could be mini, could be extensive if my memory serves me right... s00k

I think I'll stick to watching the week by week forecasts, wondering if I can hang the clothes out on the line and get them dry outside. The Met Office seem to have trouble getting short term right, so I'm not putting a whole load of trust on their long term forecasting abilities. I think they even admitted their shortcomings earlier this year...and we had a brilliant summer.

As for plants being able to predict the future - b*******. THey react to what's happened in the past, not what will happen in the future. We had a hot, dry summer, therefore they have reacted to that. That's all. Well that's what I think.

And if I'm wrong...we have snow tyres for the car and I stopped smoking now so I can afford the rise in heating bills!

We didn't see the report because they didn't report it. You have to dig quite deep on the net to find out about it.

We are still in an interglacial period. There have been longer & warmer periods than this in the last 100,000 years.

Mans (or womans ) activity may have stopped the ice sheets rolling again since the industrial revolution.

Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is at its lowest point since the carboniferous period.

Like young Marley said, if we don't warm the planet up we will decend into the next phase of the current ice age, with harbours icing up around U.K. shores every winter. And thats just in our lifetimes.

So what are the politicians feeding us and why ?
