Yes, bless him, if he wants to do a poo in the garden he will not go whilst the other 2 dogs are out there, he barks at them and they oblige by coming back into the house!! also at the end of his back just where his tail begins seems to be some sort of erogenous zone? if I'm sitting crossed legged he will keep trying to get under my foot so that it rubs there? also of course the typical Bichon running round & round the house if he gets excited!! Val
oh yes the itchy back thing, they seem to have a nerve or something? which if rubbed will result in excited kangaroo like bouncing of the back legs funny you should say that about the poo cos our Snoop has a strange habit in that department too, he grew up with a cat & i swear he must have seen her doing a poo at some point cos he digs a little hole to do his in he takes forever to pick just the right spot too...its really a big deal to the little fella' he'll come zooming into the house after to 'tell' us what he's done & gets super excited about it, usually leading to a Bichon Buzz (what we call the excited running around thing they do oh & another one of Snoops is if you have to tell him off for anything...he'll spin around & lick his willy such a daft but adorable boy
Beautiful! The Shih Tzu bitch has been adopted :( But seriously looking at a Shih Tzu x Jack Russell. Spent an hour with him today, he's lovely
thats great Ellen, he sounds like a lovely little chap, you'll have to get a pic next time to show him off oh Val Gus is absolutely gorgeous he has quite a likeness in the face to our Snoop..he's not got "Rusmar" in his pedigree by any chance has he?
I think I'll be going back with my husband tomorrow morning so he can meet him as well. It's only right that he does, rather than me coming home with him and them not liking each other
OMG I can't believe it. I just looked at his pedigree papers and "Rusmar Xmas Magic" is his Great Grandfather!!!!!!! Dam: was "Bobander Indeed I Do" Our little chaps are distantly related!!!!!!!!!!!! Val
OMG! "Rusmar Christmas Magic" is Snoops Great, Great Grandfather! & he also has a Great Grandfather from the Bobander line too, called "Bobander Chasing Rainbows"...my goodness thats amazing our two boys are related! what are the chances of that? what age is Gus Val? i thought Snoop was about 8 but after checking his Pedigree i've just discovered he was 10 in febuary! i think i need to lie down after that shock here's a pic of Snoop....i just love this pic, it shows his wacky personality off so well i think
thats a great idea Ellen, better to be safe than sorry...after all he'll be your fur baby for the next 15 yr
Awwwwwww, little snoop is SO sweet, Gus is 10 years old on 15th September so Snoop is just 7 months older than my Gus!!! I just can't believe this coincidence!!! Awww I wish they could meet and run around together!! Val
this really is a shockin' coincidence! what are the chances of two people striking up a conversation about their dogs (on a gardening forum!) who's dogs just happen to have similar quirks & appearance...& are the same age, one owner lives in Hereford England, the other in Dublin Ireland...& the dogs are related!
does your boy have a dodgy tummy Val? Snoop has, loads of stuff he cant eat & if he does he'll have a gurgly tummy & wont be himself, the poor mite misses out on a lot Polo (our other Bichon who passed away) had the constitution of a horse, nothing he couldn't eat how about the lovely Gus?
Gus doesn't have a dodgy tummy, I feed him twice daily, small handful of "Burns" mixer in the morning and half a packet of raw tripe (defrosted and kept at room temperature) with some minced beef in the evening. This diet suits him perfectly. Gus has a Perineal Hernia so I do not feed him any processed dog foods. My Labrador had an awful time with upset tummy, but he too is much better now that he is fed raw. Val
well that is good to hear i've always been reluctant to give him (or any of the dogs) raw meat as Snoop in particular is mad into giving kisses & i'd be afraid of what he'd be spreading around on that beard of his we're just very careful of what we give him, he's never had any bother with his dry food (we feed Royal Canine) & any sort of freshly cooked meat (except ham) he does great on...its the 'extras' or 'treats' he misses out on which also limits what i can put in his Kong btw Snoops Dad 'Rusmar Devine Rainbow' (what a name) is in the film 'Agnes Brown', only briefly though, you see a woman holding a Bichon in her arms looking in a shop window...thats my Snoop's Daddy
No, you can't have any kisses if he has eaten raw, I used to feed him on Naturediet but his hernia kept getting blocked, you just have to feed whatever you find is best for your own dog. Gus's Daddy comes from Norway, so we used to say he was a little Viking!!!! Val
