Blimey, this thread goes back a bit! I'd completely forgotten I made a posting. I love the Lake District. Can there be anywhere as stunning in it's tranquility?

          Hiya shiney:)

It's been a good few years since my last visit (it rained every day ). Whenever I see images such as the ones in this thread, the urge is strong to make my way back there. For now, it'll have to wait until my situation changes, but I shall return!

Troutbeck is a lovely, quiet village. Judy Boyes did a lot of her paintings in and around the village, as she lived there. He pictures are always so bright and cheerful.

As a gardener it's quite handy to be staying the village as the Lakeland Horticultural Gardens are just outside the village. Always worth a visit if you're in the Lakes. :blue thumb:

                      Hiya shiney.

I have to say, that looks very much like where me and Aunt Sally sat and had a picnic, lovely:) Pretty sure I recall a man fishing from a row-boat out in the lake..

Lovely Lake district photos :dbgrtmb: My parents had a caravan near to Skelwith Bridge , so spent quite a bit of time up there in my younger days. I always loved the Langdale valley.
