I used to have a cat that would lie upside down on my lap and i would brush his tummy with a little brush.

 

Awww bless him!!!.....looks as if he's reserved his seat on your lovely new bench Vicky, all you need now is for Munchkin to booked the other side then you and T'other Half will be left with standing room only!!

That was, Lady Allen. Border Collie bitch, we had her from a pup for fourteen years. Sadly she got a kind of dementia. Our vets came to our home to do what was needed. Not very nice.
She came from working stock, and was a right pain to begin with. Once evening Val & I went out. Returning home, it was like a war zone. She used to have her food in a pyrex dish. She'd learned to place her front paws in it and skate around the place. This evening, she cut that tiny area just below her nostrils. There was blood everywhere. When on holiday in the New Forest, she would show off and demonstrate her sheep rounding skills. I had never taught her, but somehow it was in her blood. A local tree surgeon at Roundhills, used to stop and watch her. She was always very protective of Val. On her last day. Sarah Brightman was on TV singing. Rime to say goodbye. Every time I hear that song.........enough said.

 

Berry sleeping in his cage, he went in by himself there's bedding in but he always pulls it away and lies on the bars.

 

Border collies are all the same regarding how they play and the sheep rounding up skills, but I guess everyone says that about the particular breed they are used to.
I had two that lasted a total of 30yrs.
You need to be very active to own one of them as they can run all day and still want more.

 

Yes because that's what they were bread for, Goldie's they like to hold things in their mouths. Barley is worse than berry, barley is from a working line. He's terrible when hubby goes out, he'll pick up the mat in the hall and shake it, I've managed to divert him with a toy, most of the time he'll pick the toy up.Berry he don't pick up a lot, he's from a show line, that's what i used to tell the dog trainer when i was trying to do the retrieve.
I've been told that Goldie's need a lot of stimulation,but ours are very content on just lying around and dosing until they hear something.

I adore BCs! Do you have any photos of yours @pete ?We think Bea must be mixed with a BC. She has that herding instinct too. She does that that low crawl. We think Dotty may have it in her too....she always rounds us up on a walk. And Bea is just so intelligent and good at communicating with us.it is like she is trying to speak. She knows lots of different words and knows different names for her toys. Id love to do agility with her but she is so nervous.

The tinkers now....Dotty is sat on the other sofa as she is in a mood with me because I put ear drops in.

 

Can't say anything with barley around he picks up on everything we say then berry follows him.
