Zoe was lovely too @pete , my sister used to have a couple of BC's.
Gosh what huge pumpkins!!! Home grown??

 

Yes home grown, I used to grow them but after giving them away, and then people gouging out the innards , throwing it away and carving a face in them it all seemed a bit pointless.

I grew a 12 stone one one year.
It ended up being dumped on 1 November.

To me, they are what you call a "proper dog". Man's best friend. Id love one from working stock in the future.

 

Zoe came from Carmarthen, I think she was probably bred on a farm and surplus to requirements, she could be a bit crazy about things at times and took a long time to settle.

Her predecessor, cassie, came from a farm but they just kept dogs as pets, she was very laid back, always ready for a game, but less hypersensitive.
She was longer coated and floppy ears, similar in appearance to Mikes apart from the coulouring.

 

@Fat Controller looks like you're all settled in for the night, love your Christmas tree.

 

I can imagine Cassie was much easier to take places and be around people. My Bea sounds like Zoe...hypersensitive to everything... her ears are constantly moving like radars and she can be a bit "reactive" to certain things, and other times she is petrified (hoover), anyone approaching her when out etc. she is just very highly strung.
How is Zoe with strangers coming to the house?

 

We all have our own favourite breed
To me this is a proper breed
This is Monty Don's Nigel from gardeners World sadly he passed away this year, the programme isn't the same without him.

 

No proper breeds at all ...we may have our own personal favourites but that's not the same thing.
Please don't start a ' my dog's better that yours ' debate. All animals should be gauged on their own individual merits and personality...and if it matches well with their owners ...then it's pure perfection!!

 

Sad to say Zoe died 8 yrs ago.

 

I wasn't.if you noticed i put a To mean that wei was joking i love all animals. Collies are very nice. Sorry if I offended anyone that wasn't my intention.
