@Victoria thanks I have never bathed them, i used to bathe the others but i can't do it anymore with my back, but they don't need to have them. I always towel them down when they get wet and they don't like getting into anything that will make them dirty.

Moss was good at stealing my place on the settee. He would be in the kitchen watching me pour the tea, i pick up the full cups and start walking and he would get up in front of me and get to the settee before me and get in my place. I used to find it funny and very intelligent that I'd let him do it.

Haven't got one of him being on the settee.

Animals are strange and finny. When T'other Half gets up in the night, Van jumps off the bed and rushes to get in front of him, site next to him in the bathroom then rushes back and jumps back on the bed first. That journey is up through the foyer, across the fireplace area and into the bathroom. We don't have the room with the en-suite.

It is going to be extremely hot next week and it is impossible to keep Bella indoors, she usually disappears into the shrubs for several hours in hot weather but I am concerned about the extreme heat. I don't know what to do.

My ginger mate who visits me every day has been sleeping in odd places recently. Mostly on concrete in the shade.
I find cats a bit weird when it comes to drinking water.
Put a bowl of water down for a dogs and they will drink it, cats seem to ignore it and get a drink from any where else but a water bowl.
                    My watering can is favourite.

@Michael Hewett if you could put some extra shading in the shrubs for her like cardboard boxes or something like that. Can't remember what colour coat she has,if it's white got to be more careful. If you're still worried then consult your vet.

                        Thank you @pete @Victoria @Logan
There's quite a bit of shade in the garden, the sun doesn't get to some parts until late afternoon so when Bella disappears for a long time I always hope she is in there somewhere.
She will only drink water from a dish in the bathroom. If I put it anywhere else she won't drink it !
but I have seen her drink from muddy plant saucers in the garden. The mud must give it a nicer flavour :heehee: ... or more likely she prefers rain water.
I'll put a few dishes of water here and there in case she wants it.
I've told her to keep in the shade but she just walked away from me

She's very bushy and tabby with white bib tummy and paws @Logan ... photo taken in a messy bit of the garden

Another favourite. She will be okay Michael, cats are intelligent ... most of the time. My two always find a shady spot. Van came in a while ago, looked at the big water bowl in the foyer and went into the bedroom. Munchkin is probably in The Jungle Room, a shady haven but probably warm.

Most animals have common sense, it's natural to worry, but unless they are showing signs of heat stroke it's best to let them do their own thing.

Cats especially seem difficult to help.
