I made myself look an idiot last summer when I took ginger to the vet to find out if he was chipped.
The vet picked him up and said, oh yes a little boy. I said I thought it was a girl.
No the vet said, he's been neutered. :yikes::redface:

      So, is he chipped?

Van still has his balls but is neutered ... it's the way certain Vets do it.

Yes he's chipped, but still roams, he was here this morning trying to get some food.

Bella enjoys sleeping in this broken plastic crate under the staging in a perspex shelter at the side of my old garage ...

Ah bless, they love the oddest places. Bella is such a beauty. Mine also like flower pots ... even if they have plants in them.

We have a new pet, a homing pigeon. It arrived in our garden the other day with a bump, as it tried to fly through the kitchen window. It was dazed for a bit then hobbled off to have something to eat below our bird feeder. Yesterday it was still there and appeared to have an injured leg. We tried to catch it but it hobbled down between the junction of about three wooden fences into no-man's-land. I spoke to the SSPCA and they said that homing pigeons often land tired and worn out and after two or three days carry on home. They said if we could get the ring number it would help (don't know if they put it in a taxi and send it home). Well yesterday afternoon it came back out for seed and water we had put down but when the boss tried to get near it, it flew up onto the fence, a really good sign. This morning it was on next door's shed roof so getting higher all the time. We will keep feeding it and keep looking out for it for a couple more days.

I had a racing pigeon stay for 3 months, in the end I had to catch it and release it about 20 miles away from home, I don't think it would have ever left if I hadn't helped it on its way.

Thank you Upsy. I couldn't get him to look at me. He can spend hours up there and hadn't been there for months (possibly because of the heat) but he only stayed a few minutes this time.
