Our little "Slinky"





From the 18th December till the 2nd January I was on feeding duty for "Slinky" as all the staff were off for Christmas. On the 23rd December I posted an Image on FB, saying I was on feeding duty for our feral cat and that he hadn't allowed anyone to stroke him in the 20 months he made our place his home. I had lots of likes and comments regarding how lovely he was, what I didn't expect was a knock on the door about 9.30am on Boxing day asking if they could see the cat as their cat went missing in November 2022 and they were confident this was their cat.

I went straight on the defensive as we started seeing him in the barn daily from late May 2022, plus the lasses had started taking photo's of him since June 2022 when we started feeding him twice a day, so the dates did not match. Anyways, I had already been out to feed him and with everything all locked up he could of been anywhere. They asked if they could come back, so I told them to come back on the 2nd January when everyone was back and they would have a better chance of seeing him, which they did. They said he wasn't their cat but we got the feeling they were hoping we would let him go, not a chance as we are 100% confident he was never a domestic cat and he had made our place his home.

Anyways, he has started to allow us all to stroke him, he so relaxed around us he follows you everywhere for more attention. His 3rd new bed is in the greenhouse right next to the bench where we pot up.

 

Good for to go on the defensive @gks he's a lovely cat and you've started to get his trust in you and everyone else.

Except after I posted this I noted the toerag has pushed back the young variegated Brugmansia in the pot!

Munchkin enjoying the morning sun with me yesterday morning. She always sits/lies on her little green table next to my chair ... or my lap!She has her eyes closed.

I believe he was in the KKK behind the trellis in the shade. At this moment he is on my lap washing!
