He should grow up to be big and strong... like my little chap did. Yes, that's me (on the left) :)
@Jenny namaste ...Has Toby developed some cream on one side of his face now? Is that his latest pic?

Dan the Dog, a few years ago. He's slowed down a lot recently and is getting very lumpy. Still plenty of attitude though.

Wasn't your chap a smasher NG...:grphg:. No, I don't think Toby's developing a creamy streak on the r/h side - think it was the way sunlight was catching him. That last shot ( all taken on Tues 15th) in the shade by his water bowl has no sunlight and is more his true colour. Re: the water bowl- he tries to "eat" water more than lap it and when it gets too shallow, both front feet get in there as well - as if trying to dig for an underground well! What's left goes flying out all over the shop and we all get a shower.....:heehee:

I think they all drink pretty much like that :) messy sods :)
Mine must have been quite young in that picture. I can remember dad coming home from the vets in the estate car (empty), when I was in my teens. Very sad.
I think we all knew beforehand though, but it must have still hit dad pretty hard. It was the usual thing.....back legs/hips.
I saw a medium once, and she said that I once had a dog which had passed. I thought, yeah ok, many have, but then she said 'a GS....he is still by your side now'. I thought that was amazing, and I was really touched :)

Our weekly visit to see Toby today. He was top of the class for obedience last Wednesday and hasn't disgraced himself with the need for pooh bags at school - yet. He is still very endearing and flattens his ears when he greets you. Apparently a sign of eagerness and joy - so that's good. He liked chasing me around 2 bushes down the garden in a figure of eight. Got very excited but we still haven't heard him bark! He now weighs 17.5 kg and his tail seems to have got longer. He knows us now and is comfy in our company. I asked him to sit and he did - instantly - and I gave him my first "treat" biscuit , so we are good mates now,
                    Jenny

He sounds a bit like me, when I was growing in my youth :)
He is looking cool, especially now his ears are wider apart. He 'too' will grow into a fine beast :)

A few years back, my German shepherd passed away. My wife doesn't want another dog (yet) - it hit us both hard to be honest.

Anyway last year she backed down to a new pet, only if I downgraded in size ...

                        So, here's Lois
                        [IMG]

                        And Megan
                        [IMG]

They are rescued/adopted. The previous owners kept them in quite a small cage with a dog barking at them all day. Very nervous girlies at first but have really blossomed in their specially built piggy palace ...

Both are very happy, very comfortable & enjoy chilling.

Also, their poopies are a fantastic accelerator for the compost bin & their left over hay builds up the 'browns' in the bin too. This summer they also have an outdoor run & help mow my lawn!
