They do, don’t they? :hapydancsmil: I only really needed one, as they are so easy to start off from cuttings, but 6 it is for this yr. :yay:

Also new, from my GC trip on Monday - 2 Lobelia Waterfall White and a Brachycome. I only needed 1 Lobelia, but there were two available and I didn’t want to leave one behind feeling lonely. :)

      IMG_0086.jpeg

Plus, not purchased but newly acquired, a couple of pieces got nibbled off the Lobelia I have overwintered outside. I popped them in a vase, and, hey presto, roots appeared, so … :yahoo:

I ordered some seeds from a place in Cornwall on Ebay, they turned up today posted on the 21st of March, 12 days, I could have walked it faster, Royal Mail is totally useless.

I messaged the seller yesterday and they said they would send them again, typical.

Yes, I have been growing other Heleniums for a while and have added organic matter to the soil as well as mulched with bark. I keep them well watered when it’s hot. They are near the bird bath so they get the overflow when I top it up as well .

I bought it in the plant sales area in my local botanical gardens @simone_in_wiltshire, run by a small business owner who rents the site. The plants are usually all British grown and well priced as well as a bit different from the local garden centres.

If you don't mind buying online @simone_in_wiltshire, they're available now at Knoll Gardens (2 varieties) Crocus/RHS (several varieties) and Hardy's Cottage Garden Plants (limited stock). I've purchased Heleniums from all three in the past and they have been good, healthy plants.

First time for me, I have bought a mix of seven Dahlias which arrived today.

There appear to be lots of "legs" attached. What do I do?

Thanks for the tip. I checked the websites but they are not available. I was looking for the Red Helena but might have to go with another red or yellow version once they are sold again.

Fuchsias have arrived at Morrisons. I bought Snowcap, Lady Thumb, Son of Thumb and Alice Hoffman for £1.50 each. They have been planted out on my slope this afternoon.

That’s good value, @Escarpment. :blue thumb: No Morrisons near here sadly. My Sainsbury’s doesn’t do many plants these days, probably cos The Range and Homebase are/were within sight, and the ones it does have tend to be very light-starved and dry.

I love it when Morrisons has all the plants in, but I rarely manage a shopping trip without buying something. I've just returned home with a tray of 6 French marigolds for £3, as my attempts to grow from seed this year have so far not been as successful as last year.

Busy, busy day for garden purchases for me today. I've been thoroughly diverted by other things this year, so have literally not turned a hand in my garden since last year (you can imagine the state it is in) - and at the same time, I am wanting to continue my push toward everything perennial. So, to aid that process, we went to our local (and rather excellent) garden centre this morning and got quite the haul.
