Little follow on from my earlier page 4 pics of Streptocarpus, below are the original two plants that seem to stay in flower most of the year.

Took some leaf cuttings of them that are now well rooted, and have a few spare if anyone wants a couple for free, they will need some care / heat being such young plants.

Will put up some pics of the cuttings if anyone interested.

They look so appealing ricky101 . What I really love about their location, is that flowers are looking at you.
I used to have DS-Raspberry Streams, love this variety. And plug plants are beautiful healthy starters.

 

You are right, it is DS-Raspberry Streams, not Dreams !!

First time we have ever done any leaf cuttings of any plants, but its taken 6 months to get to that size, not sure if thats typical or if we have missed some quicker method, like a heated propagator ? We kept them in our small orchid enclosure which is a minimum of 15c.

 

Not in bloom but I couldn't find anywhere else to show my new plant ...
It's Monstera adansonii, a small 'version' of M. deliciosa Takes up less room and looks nicer I think

 

There seems to be a surge in new 'green foliage' plants and hybrids and some GCs have a good range of them. It looks almost identical to the very rare Monstera obliqua.
It will be interesting to see how it grows. You could grow it up a mossed pole.

 

It looks almost like a bushy plant rather than a climber.

I bought a Philodendron some time back, I grew P bipinnatifidum a long time ago and was hoping it would turn out similar, but in two years its done pretty much nothing sizewise.

Here it is two years on, still just a crinkled green blob.

 

@strongylodon Apparently M. obliqua has larger holes. I read in its description that it has more 'hole' than 'leaf' and it is so rare that you can't even get one ...
I 'll be trying to train my new adansonii up a pole when it grows taller.

@pete your philodendron looks interesting with crinkly leaves. The pot looks a bit small though, do you think it needs repotting ?

 

Pot probably is a bit small @Michael Hewett , I repotted it in the spring and it has grown but it just stays that shape and has no real Character, it could be anything
I put it out in the garden in summer, not sure I will bother bringing it back in.

 

@pete, your Philodendron is a dwarf possibly Atom or Super Atom, most of these new hybrids are from P. selloum and I don't think the leaves become pinnate, there are a few new dwarf Philos that are like Bipinnatifidum such as Xanadu.
Hardly ever been a popular house plant but Aglaonemas are now appearing with lots of new hybrids too.

 

Ahh, and there was me waiting for it to get some adult leaves.
