You're doing well with that, I put mine outside as it was showing signs of white fly, it didn't last long after that.

Ceropegia Woodii, a plant I lusted after when I was a teenager but only bought now- and overpriced at that! But it's a nice plant and the flowers are quite interesting when you look at them closely. :)

          ceropegia.jpg

And the No News news, Aloe Aristata which faithfully flowers every year regardless of the growing conditions. The flowers are of a nearly attractive shade of burnt orange (attractive, if you happen to like that particular colour), drip with nectar (hence the drawn blinds) and attract any nectar loving creature on the Northern Hemisphere into your windowsill.

But hey ho, it aims to please so who am I to criticize the effort. I'll treat it to some liquid seaweed today as a thank you- note (while wiping the windowsill). :)

Costus bud has done nothing for a month but yesterday it started to open. :)

The plant is quite attractive now that I'm on the winning side of a three-year aphid battle.

Not a houseplant this year as it's been outside on the balcony since about August or September last year. But for 3 or 4 years it grew in the kitchen window.

Fishbone cactus Epiphyllum Angulier is doing it's magic. The buds stay closely shut until one night they start to open- this year I have 5 buds and several look like they will open tonight.

The flowers are highly scented with a citrus- vanilla like aroma, quite wonderful :)

This is not scented but I did get a white one that is, but I grow that outside in summer but will be trying it's hardiness this winter. That is S. tubiflora, I think my red one could be S. cardinalis.

Thanks, that's the one! Apparently Pan global plants says it's hardy for them in the Cotswolds in free draining soil

I have had S tubiflora for a few years now and on a recent trip to Pan Global I saw their description as hardy and as I will need to repot it next year some of it will go into a well drained spot.
Some nurseries in the UK describe it as the "hardy gloxinia".

"hardy Gloxinia", a name that was often applied to Incarvillea.

Yes but incarvillea always looked "odd". Dirty mauve flowers on stems far too short.
Mind, lilium brownii (? Maybe?)stems are stupidly short too - barely 15 cm. But I still like it

I rather like them, I lost I mairei last year in the drought and will be looking for seed this winter.
