      Second variegated Bougainvillea coming out.

Yellow Bougainvillea from a cutting 'liberated' in Madeira a few of years ago but really only got going this year in the conservatory.

Flowering for the second time but I can't for the life of me remember what it is, Phalenopsis or Phalenopsis type. Help Keith, you know it!

Commonly sold as a Phalaenopsis. It looks rather like one that I have too. Not a true mini Phal, but quite a small one. Mine has a light fragrance, does yours? Two or three years ago it bloomed outdoors all summer and it took on a much darker colour.....................

I thought it had a different name but can't remember, there is no scent and the leaves are a much lighter green than the usual Phal colour, longer and less rigid too.

Doritis looks very much like Phals. Many of the supermarket Phals are actually intergeneric hybrids of Doritis and Phalaenopsis.

Here's a photo I borrowed of the web of the species Phalaenopsis violacea.....................

The colour around the column and lip coupled to the more open star shape of the petals suggested P.violacea as a parent so I did a search based on that as one of the parents. Don't want you thinking that I actually knew that off the top of my head!

The plant desperately needs repotting, but I'm too scared to do it in case it sulks and stops flowering.

Seeing your photo Jenny has made me think that mine is in dire need of repotting. The leaves are much smaller and not so well coloured now. It has been outdoors for a month now and here it is today......................

it looks like it's flowering before "it's too late" ?
I think they have a limited shelf life and loose their vigour after about a year or so. If it still won't gain strength from a re pot, then starting afresh with new corms might be best. Would be interested to know how you get on please,
                      Jenny
