Nice flowers :dbgrtmb:, it's a shame they are so short lived, I always bring mine in from the greenhouse when in bud.

Columnea is doing its usual thing at this time of the year, even though its grown indoors all year it knows when its nearly Christmas.

The Phals are coming on slowly in the conservatory, I dont keep it quite as warm as I used to, so they appear to be flowering slower, over a longer period.

I wish this one looked that good.....................

That said it always has at least one flower on it. It is also making three new flower stems which are the first new ones in over three years so maybe it has finally settled in after the house move!!!!

The Paph continues to bloom well.....................

And the Impatiens niamniamensis cuttings are blooming!

That was before I knew that you liked your blooms big, bold and brassy!! :heehee:

It's Dendrobium Berry Oda which is a cross between D.kingianum and D.biggibum (seriously). I've given all mine away as they struggled here. My Paphs have thrived here though so it's not all bad.

Hi Redstar, your Queens tears plant is looking really healthy. Any advice on feeding and general care. I'm tempted to leave it outside this winter to see how hardy it is, but would hate to loose it. Location southern England.

My Queen's tears goes out side after Mothers'Day in the USA that is usually May 13th or so. It stays outside on the open deck in care of Mother nature, whatever the rain happens it gets and ample sun exposure. If its really dry in August I may water the whole bunch of house plants that I set outside on the deck. About Halloween, or threat of a really bad frost I will bring it inside. No feeding, and watering is hit or miss when it is inside, maybe about 3 cups every two weeks, I think it likes it on the dry side. And that is it, for the most part I do not fuss with it at all. When the flowers are spent I pull off the dried up flower stems that is it. Every 2-3 years, even in a pot that size it does need splitting, then sometime in the summer I will just pull the whole thing out of its pot lay it sideways on the lawn and plunge in a shovel for even quick cuts. I gave away three hunks two summers ago. Usually for the first flowering time, it does not produce to many flowers. This is the second flowering season. I think I will divide it again in 2016 summer. Have to find taker for the clumps. My location is South East PA, USA. plants up to zone 6 can tolerate the winters here. This one cannot.
