Two of my faves as you know!

It cuts the other way too - as you know my Impatiens niamniamensis has flourished outdoors this year. So maybe the answer is that if it adapts then it is (if that makes sense). Pleione make a lovely indoor display, yet they're classed as a fairly hardy orchid for a sheltered spot.

Or look at it another way - in their natural habitat no plant is a houseplant. Just some plants have to be grown indoors in the UK.

My oldest Dendrobium "Berry Oda" has started blooming. Not brilliantly, but it has produced lots of keikis to pot up this year.

They're very small flowers, no more than 20mm wide. Kingianium Dens need a cool spell to encourage flowering.

I don't have much room for houseplants but I do have two Streptocarpus, Charlotte and katie plus a Chamaedora Metallica.

I would love to take credit for blooming this, but the spikes were just emerging when I bought it. At least they didn't drop off I suppose! They grew fast and far bigger than I expected though.

          Wow, that looks good :dbgrtmb:

Our Echeverias (don't know the variety) bloomed about two months ago, in the greenhouse. They live there all year and have done so for decades.

The Hoyas have just been brought in from the greenhouse so they are now house plants. This one has started blooming again (think it's the third time this year).

Kristen, this is the sister of the one you had but I think it's quite a bit longer. It's also wound round so can't tell. I hope yours is blooming now :dbgrtmb:

Most are better off over wintered inside, I'm bringing mine in in the next month or so, they can take a light frost so I wouldnt rush to do it.

Thank you, I will squeeze it in the mini green house - no heat, but should be frost free with a bit of luck.

I've waited two years for this to bloom again..............
              DSC_0045.jpg

It was always reliable, but then decided to produce a keiki on the end of a flower stem (a first for me on a Phal as they usually emerged from the main plant). The wait was worth it though as it has created a wonderfully wild look and produced three flower spikes too..................
