I bought a burn bin today to mainly burn all the excess used bunny hay.

Today I bought a Hellebore Frostkiss. I will check the variety later on when I plant it out. I have a nice shady spot for it to go in. How sun tolerant are hellebores? I have a bed at the front that might be suitable (for a later project) except it would be in full sun for most of the day.

During the week I ordered a bare root Abracadabra Rose. That arrived today.

Hopefully the weather will be ok this afternoon so that I can get on with planting out.

      G.

Hellebore Frostkiss Dorothy's Dawn safely planted.

Rosa Abracadabra potted up. The pot was barely big enough but it's the biggest one I've got for now. In the Autumn, once it has settled down, I will look for a bigger pot.

Jack, in Australian conditions Hellebores prefer winter sun and summer shade. Under a deciduous tree is ideal. However, your summer sun is less intense that ours so you might get away with a sunnier position?

I took the plunge and bought two more hellebore for the front. Time will tell whether they are up to the task or not. For now, they are looking pretty good

                Today I saw a pemettya:

I take it that I would need a male and a female plant to produce the berries. I would only want the one plant as a I would grow it in a pot.

                  Purchase2Sm.jpg Slightly embarassed...
Last week visited Gelli Uchaf open under NGS. Bought snowdrops Sprite, Robin Hood, Percy Picton and x valentinei. And daphne bholua.
Today went to Gardening weekend where Farmyard plants had too much temptation.
Bought 5 hellebores, zaluzianskya, corydalis Beth evans, viola Charles Groves, saxifraga Pink Candy, Rhodohypoxis Midori, Celandine Flore Plena, Euonymus Wolong Ghost, Fuchsia Golden Mountain, Chrysanth Burnt Orange, penstemon electric blue, Primula seiboldii Mato yo Nuki.
In my defence I will say these plants were £1.99 or £2.99... Even the hellebores were £2.99 each. And there were reductions for buying multiples... SpriteSm.jpg HelleborePurhaseSm.jpg
However I did resist these, which @ARMANDII might not have managed! Farmyard2Sm.jpg

Nice looking plants @mazambo , I've had some really good success with Poundland plants. The trick is to buy them when they're fresh which you've done :)
