Got 180 of these Victorian pavers out of a skip this afternoon, free of charge - my favourite price.

They go for £2 to £3 each on eBay. About a third are damaged, but they can have the damaged bits cut off and reduced to 6, 4, or 2 squares and be useable, plus if laid half lap, half pavers can be used alternately along 2 perimeters.

The main thing is that I saved some heritage pavings from going into landfill.

Yesterday was supposed to be my day off but, due to circumstance, it turned out to be today and this morning I had three deliveries......

            A Pieris Varigata from Primose
            upload_2020-7-16_20-12-25.png

Ten Phlox plug plants from Hayloft
            upload_2020-7-16_20-13-32.png

And Three Day Lilies from Strictly Day Lilies who kindly gave me an extra Day Lily for free. But if you look I actually have far more than just one plant in each variety.....I think I've got at least 12 separate plants but in the last image I'll probably get another 6 to 8 plants as well:yes:

Which I thought was a good start to the day:dunno::hapydancsmil: But I'd already decided to visit Arley Hall Plant Nursery near Knutsford as Arley Hall gardens were a favourite of my Wife and I to visit, and I still do, and a good portion of their plants make up my borders. I actually had on my list just some Redbeckia "Goldsturm" to add to the ones already in the borders, but...................then I visited Arley Hall and it didn't all go to plan:dunno::heehee:

So, with good intentions to buy only some Rudbeckia "Goldsturm" and only Rudbeckia "Goldsturm" on visiting Arley Hall Plant Nursery I came back with 5 Rudbeckia "Goldsturm" instead of 3
              upload_2020-7-16_20-58-5.png

and also this lot as well.............

              Eucomis "Sparkling Rosey"
              upload_2020-7-16_21-23-56.png

              Day Lily "Hyperion"
              upload_2020-7-16_21-24-34.png

              Achillea "Ptarmica"
              upload_2020-7-16_21-58-25.png

              Imperata "Cylinderica Rubra"
              upload_2020-7-16_21-27-50.png

Ornithogalum "Saundersiae" I actually bought two of them.:heehee:
              upload_2020-7-16_21-30-29.png

              Achillea "Credo"
              upload_2020-7-16_21-31-10.png

              Helianthus "Happy Days"
              upload_2020-7-16_21-32-52.png

              and finally, Erigeron "Snow White"
              upload_2020-7-16_21-33-21.png
The Arley Plant Nursery is only small but it really does have some interesting plants at very reasonable prices. They also have lots of plants that they sell which they have growing in their garden borders for decades and some are really old varieties which fit into my Cottage style garden.
I really shouldn't be allowed near a Plant Nursery as I seem to have a relapse into "Plantaholicism":wallbanging: every time. So it looks like I'll be busy planting on Saturday:dunno::doh::heehee:

Aw that's lovely, we have a bench in our front patio and as it catches the early morning sun we sit out there and have our morning coffee. You certainly get to know the passers by, especially during lockdown as everyone in the world seemed to have discovered our quiet lane with it's woods and lakes!!.

@ARMANDII they are beautiful!! If I had
to choose a favourite then it would have to be Fluffy Pillows, but it would be a very close call.:)

I've potted them on, Upsdaisy, and I'm hoping they will flower next year if I feed them correctly, we'll see.:hapydancsmil:
Fluffy Pillows is really nice and rated as one of Cayeux's top Iris so, fingers crossed, it will flower next year which will please me greatly:yes:. Not only did they give me another free Iris (Charlie) but there was two of "Sharper Image" so that, and some repeats that I have, will go to friends of mine who have turned a blank canvas into a really nice garden. It looks like, at the moment, I will be splitting the collection into two, the first being all named Iris and the second being those that so far are unnamed but I might be able to identify when they flower.

I bought some of these 5 litre buckets for something like 60p each at a car boot sale around 3 years ago to use for picking blackberries, elderberries, etc. They have now started to disintegrate, probably after using to pick at least 600lbs of blackberries.

Not wanting to wander around car boots waiting for something similar to turn up, I bit the bullet and bought some replacements from Amazon, 5 x 5L Buckets for £9.99 https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07WP521DG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

With one of fhose hanging from around my neck from a length of shockcord I can pick 10lbs of blackberries in an hour.

And blackberry wine is useful to swop for bags of plaster!
