So far it's made its way from Turin to Milan. Text from DHL saying they will deliver next Wednesday the 3rd. :dunno:

LOL Well, my Phlomis italica has clearly got slightly squashed in transit but otherwise appears to be a decently-sized, healthy plant. Will bounce back in no time, I'm sure! :heehee: Looking forward to seeing it flower in early Summer.

Hurray ... The Nandina arrived today (after a little hassle from DHL). I am more than pleased with it.. Just sat it on the Kitchen Patio table to air and rest till I find a suitable pot to put it in.

All the Plant Nurseries in my area are still open and, in fact, are really busy and after a socially distance half hour chat with four my five Neighbours about, of course, gardens, I decided to take a quick look to see if there were any bargains at the Nursery if they weren't too busy.
I was in the market for a large pot for the newly bought Acer Ukigumo, so I had a look in the Pots section outside at the entrance and immediately found a large glazed mid green pot that I really liked. It wasn't cheap at three figures but they were offering 50% off which brought it down to a figure that was reasonable and wouldn't give the Bank Manager any indigestion. So, I bought it, paid for it, and asked for assistance to get it into the Car..........and there lies the rub, because on getting it to the Car, the very polite Lad helping suddenly stopped and said "We have a problem". The problem was a inch and a half chip halfway up the pot which was pretty deep. At that moment there was no way I could accept the pot, so there was another Blue glazed pot of a similar design but a good third smaller at £80 but with 50% off came out at £40. I settled for that and we went back to the Till to sort out cancelling the big glazed mid green pot and buying the new pot.
By this time, I had got over my disappointment but thought "Why not?" and asked the Lad if the Nursery would accept an offer on the damaged pot. He contacted the Manager, who came out to look at the pot and instead of letting me make an offer, looked at me, looked at the pot, and told me I could have it for free:hate-shocked:. I told him that I could repair the pot and it was only fair for me to make an offer but he just said "No, it's damaged, you bought it in good faith not knowing it was damaged and we like to keep that faith with our customers so it's free. So the Car was loaded with two pots instead of one and the Lad even went back to the pallet where the pots were and came back with the chipped piece of pot to repair the pot with......so, not a bad day.:hapydancsmil::heehee:

I refuse to answer that question, Perki, on the grounds that I might incriminate myself:nonofinger::dunno::heehee:

Getting forgetful....you know how it is
@ARMANDII The new policy is 'sell all the useless clutter and only buy essentials' It's going to take a while to get used to the differences from the old one, though. So far, it won't go above 3kmph. I was rather counting on being able to bomb around in a radar-and-gendarme-free zone
