@flounder I was thinking about getting some trailing Begonias for my hanging baskets on the balcony - now I will have to have a look on Saturday when I go downtown & see if they have any left!

The begonias are the biggest corms I've seen for a while, they're this big!(holds hands out) £6 for a packet of eight. They should produce a lot of propagation material early season

Just in case some of my Dahlias haven't made it through the Winter....I couldn't resist.
Also re-stocked our diminishing compost supply too.

After 2 years in a row of growing Begonias in the pots in rings on the balcony railings I gave all my tubers to my son. He planted them up in much bigger pots the following year & the plants responded magnificently! Much, much better than the 2 years they were growing in small pots on the balcony! :dbgrtmb: I also had a few hanging baskets with Begonias in them. They were in the baskets for 3 or 4 years, in fact after they died down in the late autumn of 2021 I forgot to take them out & put them in a cupboard inside the flat - the following year they sprouted & flowered at the time that suited them & flowered all summer!

Last autumn I thought if they can survive like that through the winter then they can survive another one as well! I may have made a big mistake as they share the baskets with some variegated Geraniums. Well they also survived 3 or 4 winters along with the begonias. But this winter they were killed by the terrible -8C temps we had in December 2022. So I expect the Begonias will have died as well.
