Show Us Your Purchases 2023

Visit to IKEA, a nice Gasteria to go with some cacti into my new large communal bowl planter (in the making, it still needs sanding down and painting) and an impulse buy of sturdy, large Senecio Himalaya that should make a few divided plants for various purposes. It looks quite fun.

For £3 for the Gasteria and £5 for the Senecio, not bad at all. IKEA plants are usually healthy, properly named and they tend to have interesting things at affordable prices.

Just received a Brugmansia variegata rooted plantlet from my Spanish supplier.

 

Planning to purchase this year are two plants-----Enkianthus campanulatus and a tree -- Evening light Japanese snowball. The tree will be in the front of the house, color of it will accent nice with the color of the house. like the size. it will also look pretty against the star magnolia. the plant--still undecided where to put. We don't need much new plants anymore. But sometime a really unique one catches my attention. I get a good garden magazine full of uniqueness.

 

Good plants @redstar! Is the snowball tree the horizontal tiered one? They look lovely when they get mature.

Yes, it appears it is. I am actually going to buy it larger. Have to really rototiller the whole area its going, remove some of the soil, and mix with better soil before I put it in.

 

My new toy arrived today. Hopefully I will now be able to keep everything together tidy.

Sorry it's upsidedown! Hydrangea Limelight and edgeworthia chrysantha. Small plants, but a lot cheaper than in local nursery. I'm just going to get them on steroids in cold glasshouse to get them to grow!

 

I was very controlled in my seed order - as I have lots of other seeds from Alpine Garden Society to deal with

 

Got these for free from the water company, along with a couple of other bits non garden related but about water saving.
I don't think they realise this stuff doesn't really save water, you only get out of it what you put in.

 

I also got some a few years ago from our water company, I only used them in some hanging baskets but I don't remember if they did help to cut down on watering.
