It was more likely not enough heat, especially at night and not long enough growing season.

Good afternoon @Victoria my dear friend and thank you I have never grown them before but I thought I would give them a try this year as they seem relativly maintainance free if I am successful I shall fill the garden up with them:smile:

I have had difficulty in doing these from seed so ordered some plug plants coming from Italy and Spain. Both Aptenia cordifolia, Purple from Italy and Pink variegata from Spain. I will put in a hanging basket.

Yesterday I received 5 shrubs from Pan Global PLants, well packed and nicely grown plants, just not much to look at the moment.
Buddleja speciosissima, Zanthoxylum acanthopodum, Clethra monostachya,Rubus ichangensis and Dichroa "Long March".
Currently in the greenhouse as it's the only spot out of the wind.

Some Charles Dowding and Huw Richards seed trays.

They look well made and very sturdy.

Browsing through a charity shop this afternoon - this caught my eye. It has a clock work mechanism - an hourly chime and lovely wood carvings. I'll put with the once a month winding up it needs. All for £30. Looks fab on the wall.

Tremendous value.Have had good germination of these, (Lidl seeds are all fresh- only sold for a few weeks !), but you needed to sow them weeks ago to get Sugar babe to mature, in my experience. Even in last years hotter than usual summer they failed to get there.Shall not bother again.

Well I sold some blood for a tenner in Morrisons carpark and then went and bought this with the money, only £15 which I thought was a good buy, its actually three separate plants in one pot.
