Yes - Knoll is very highly regarded. I'm sure I got some from them decades ago.

I find it hard to escape from Morrisons without a plant at this time of year, especially the cottage garden / wildlife perennials. I had one of their Heleniums last year and never got around to planting it out, it flowered its socks off in its original little tiny pot and got so top-heavy I had to prop it up between my other pots! I will make a point of putting these both out today.
I've got some foxgloves and ammi majus I've been growing on over the winter to plant out today as well.

Was just strolling through town to collect some library books and this little plant called out to me from the local newsagent's pavement selection! :)

A small thing ... but it will give me such pleasure.

A baby has arrived in the household. A tetrapanex from a local grower on FB which I proudly bought home in a box on my knee cooing over it. I have been hankering over one of these since seeing it at Pinetum Gardens a few years ago. Problem is that it doesn't fit with my planting scheme, there's no room for it in the garden, it grows absolutely enormous and sends out suckers, it will need a very large pot which I haven't got yet. However dear reader I saw it, I wanted it, I bought it 20240416_192613.jpg

Ahh, how well I know this feeling! :) Go out for something to fill a dry, shady spot. Come home with something completely unsuitable ... but somehow irresistible. :spinning:

Lidl have got arches and obelisks in this week, £9.99 each. I bought one of their obelisks last year and grew my french beans up it. The beans escaped off the top and into a nearby Goat Willow! I had the Goat Willow removed over the winter so no more escaping beans.
Anyway today I bought two of the arches, I'm planning to grow some veg. on them. I'll probably get some more obelisks too. And I went into B&M and found a very nice metal trellis for £8. Lidl were supposed to have some according to their website but they never turned up in my store - only the nasty trellises with the fake leaves on them.

                        Good morning.
Went to an expensive garden centre with my sister.
Only went as they were offering 20% off all plants and my sister, getting a further 10% loyalty discount, made it worthwhile.
I was very restrained and only bought what was on my list!!

Latest acquisition - a teeny Geranium Album. Now, this represents hope over experience as I've had several in the past and they have never lasted more than a season or two, but I love the feel of the leaves and, at £2.95, not a huge investment. :)
