My new Lawnmower. Last one had given up the ghost. Had it a week and still not had a dry day to use it yet.
Ps it's my first go trying to post a picture.

It galls me if I have to use a GC too. There's one by us that has quite a good selection (once you've walked the ¼ of a mile to the actual plant sections, past the restaurant, bath salts, ridiculous jumpers, door plaques etc), but they went cash free so they'll never get my custom again.

We had a decent nursery and they sold out to a big company, not one of the big chains but a company that has a few others Coolings.

I rarely go there now, I'm sure the place is more profitable now judging by the car park, but prices are sky high.

I don't have a car so am limited in my possibilities for buying things in person. There is a garden centre about 2 miles walk from my home, so I go there for things I can't find in B&Q or the supermarkets (both a shorter walk away). I carried a big spiky Mahonia back a few weeks ago! The prices aren't bad, they compare well to buying the equivalent plant online.

Today I bought a yellow-stickered Hydrangea in Morrisons. It's a Paniculata White Lady, and the pot is smashed up - probably trodden on - though the plant looked OK. It leaked muddy water all over the till area! Reduced from £8 to £2.

DSC05085.JPG Mr Yodel has just delivered my Polianthes tubers I ordered last week.
Dont look very big to me, It say Netherlands on wrapper, don't hold out much hope as the ones in the garden centres are similar these days.
Still might get some nice leaves, ever the optimist.

You should have taken me up on my offer  They've 'pupped' so you might need to grow the littl'uns on for a year before they flower.

I picked up a little clematis in Asda the other day. Obviously, it'll need grown on for another year, but for 2 quid, and my discount, so £1.80, it hasn't broken the bank.
It's one I'd not heard of before - Aotearoa, and the name had sounded Maori [which it turns out to be] but I see Thorncroft has it. Fingers crossed it'll do well.
The name means 'land of the long white cloud' so pretty appropriate! :)

I’m pleased that my order of Calamagrostis Karl Foerster from Knoll Gardens arrived today. (Yesterday I had notification that they’d been sent, but we’re away for the weekend tomorrow so I was sure they’d arrive then.) Thank you to @Plantminded and someone else from the other forum who recommended Knoll. I’d order from them again as the plants look good and the packaging was good, despite the box being bashed. They’ll be okay next to the greenhouse till we get back - the ground’s too sodden to plant them now anyway. A10361F9-F239-4513-B58C-DEBD9B20FF17.jpeg

They look pretty good @Golarne so I hope they do well for you. I bought just one from a local GC to go into a pot on the terrace and it's just picking up now so fingers crossed for both of us.
