I have just used ASDA online 1st time, well for a £1 delivery charge and Champers @£10 a bottle who could resist? Compost does not have the same sort of Vibes. !!
They are good value for most things, we have used their pay as you go phone package since they 1st began, they out do all the others and their service is 2nd to none.

Not gardening, but I've just bought a new TV :blue thumb:. It's our third one in 45 years! Extravagant, or what!!! :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

I don't suppose this one will last the average 22 years the others did.

Just need to build a Media Room to put it in now - 7-speaker surround sound cinema-experience, and all that jazz :heehee:

Not sure a Media Room is necessary for a 40" TV. Sound from the front will be sufficient :). We don't do 'cinema-experience' as the cinemas are much too noisy. The last film we saw was The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (they're now filming the sequel) and the one before that was Miss Potter. We did go to one film in between (recommended to us but can't remember the title ) but walked out after five minutes and got our money back because it was too loud. :old:

Although the previous TV was 36" this new one takes up a lot less width and a fantastic amount less depth. The old one was almost as much from front to back as it was wide. Those tube thingies take up a lot of room. :heehee:

Last time that I went to the cinema was a local indy cinema that was showing Goodfellas about two years ago. I missed it at the cinema when it was released (1990) but despite knowing it almost line for line it was still a great cinematic experience. Before that it was Tinker Sailor Soldier Spy (brilliant film). The trouble with cinemas is that they let other people in at the same time as me!! The re-runs at the indy cinema are great though as it's full of film nuts, most of whom barely breathe during the film, let alone get up every five minutes, cough, take their phone in, discuss what's going to happen next or fall asleep and start snoring (my missus did!)!!!!

You sound like my Mother (which given the choice would have stuck with Black and White!)

Whilst definitely not wanting to be a slave to TV we've taken the viewpoint that whilst we are watching it we might as well have the best "experience" that we can readily afford ... Having Teenage kids exacerbates what might be "reasonable" on the wish list!! but I have to say it does make watching stuff on TV very enjoyable - even my Mum would be impressed :)

Still undecided I'll probably plant the palm out but keep the cycad in a pot so I can bring it into the GH in winter.
Also will make a rain cover for the palm in winter too

Fate sometimes plays a hand. Today is my birthday, I got some money and my work schedule took me past my favourite local nursery. As it would have been rude to drive past I went in and got me a Clianthus puniceus "Alba"........................

I've been after one for a while and they had just two left. Check out the price...................

Apologies to the mods for that somewhat shameless plug for a proper family run nursery:yahoo:

I'm not sure 'TV' and 'enjoyable' necessarily go together :heehee:
