@fat controller ...it says to apply at 6wk intervals throughout the summer.I thought I'd give it a go for at least two applications,I'm hoping by then the plants will have survived and be big enough to fight the demons off:blue thumb:

A friend who spends time in the uk and here has just arrived with some gems for me. I developed a yearning for the beautifully scented Verbena 'Silver Ann' that I used to grow. I hunted and could only find it mail order at Great Dixter. They arrived with her a while ago, as her visit was put back, but they're huge well rooted plants and have withstood their marathon traveling really well. Now potted up to use later outside.

She also found some wonderful roses @£3.50! So I've now got old friends Tuscany Superb, Zepherine Drouhin, Reine des Violettes, Buff Beauty and Ferdinand Pichard and new to me Jacques Cartier, Comte de Chambord and Cardinal Richelieu. Coals to Newcastle in the main it seems he he. They are superb plants

Two purchases today. Firstly a Leucothoe 'Rainbow' which I thought would look at home next to a Nandia and Weigela Variegata.

I also bought a Salix caprea 'Kilmarnock':

I think I've made a mistake with the Salix as I can't see where it would work in 2 foot border, it may have to remain in it's pot for a while longer! :wallbanging:
