Yeah, it's the old fashioned sort we used to call them "Coral Bells".

Before all the coloured leaf varieties were invented they were everywhere. We've been after one for years but couldn't find any.

Nearly fainted today when we saw them all lined up outside the shop. Bought 3 :)

That's an impresive list @Anthony Rogers I've got to go into town tomorrow, so will be sure to check out Poundland. Mind you it's only a small store, so they might not have the plants. :fingers crossed:

Just like to say I'm not against the newer types, we've already got a "Big Top Burgundy", but I prefer the older cottagey types.

Bring on their gaudy brightness I say ... they put me in mind of the skirts worn by ladies in saloons in the old western programmes :heehee:

                Hi Jools,
They'd also got various Lychnis ( hope they've still got a Chalcedonica tomorrow, couldn't carry anymore today), Alchemilla Mollis, Lupins, Digitalis, Gaillardia and Delphinium.

I've just ordered my bulbs for next spring's flowers, for autumn delivery. I used Plantify, who I've used before and always been really pleased with them. Bit shocked to discover (just after I placed the order) that this year they have terrible ratings, and lots of disgruntled customers. Hoping I haven't made a mistake, and will get the same good service I had from them previously...

It is rather lush isn't it @Lolimac ? I need a bigger garden though :yikes: Slow growing apparently, so will keep it in a tub for a few years until it gets to a decent size and then plant out.

Sainsburys in Bridgwater has loads of Acers, unnamed but excellent quality grafted trees.
Most were about 2/3ft high or more and only a Tenner. I only bought one!!!!!!!!

Gaudy and probably genetically engineered (as lot of plants are now) but a show stopper all the same.
