Turns out that this sprinker is a pile of rubbish. When it works, it is really good, but it is as temperamental as hell; I have just tried to set it up to water the shady end of the garden, it has rotated half a cycle clockwise, and then refuses to spin back anti-clockwise; I don't have time for faffing about with it, so it will be returned as yet another piece of useless Hozelock tat. Lesson learned, and never will any of their overpriced rubbish grace my garden again.

Just ordered one of these instead

@IceColdRum - really like those cylinders, are they recycled culvert pipes? Reminded me to get along to the car boot on Sunday, love a rummage around.

I don't mind a bit of a faff to set it up, but I shouldn't need to be doing it every 15 minutes when the thing changes its mood, which is the problem with the Hozelock one; speaking to a few folks at work, they are also fed up of Hozelock stuff being utter tripe

@Gay Gardener, nope there chimney liners I believe :)

They look lovley with some mint in and when I get a moment I'll be giving them a natural yogurt wash to promote lichen and moss growth.

                  Kniphofia "Moonstone"

thought I needed a treat, 2 litre pot so should get established more quickly than the 9cm pot I keep buying and have to wait two to three years before I have any flowers

I forgot to take pics, will do tomorrow..... but ..........

I don't know if this is just ours or everywhere but we went to B&Q today and got 3 trays of 6 x Euonymous priced at £8.40 each tray. When we went to the till they were only £4 each.

There were no signs anywhere about reductions etc so don't know if there's a sale on or not.
