I saw Colocasia Nobel giant on BHG website and absolutely fell in love with it! but a quick search showed that you cant get them at all in the UK and the american nurseries wont post it! The only variety available in the UK is Colocasia esculante.. Ofcourse had to buy it, so now I am proud owner of 3 bulbs, bought from crocus for £9. An impulse buy but now I need all your help :)
      - Any suggestions what might go along with it? the plants will go really huge so I am guessing something pretty and thinking small shrubs or ground cover like sweet alyssium:scratch:
      - And I am not too sure:oops: whether I should grow the bulbs together or 3 feet apart. All the pics online show its a giant plant which grows very fast but have no clue that one plant from one bulb or group of plants? So any help/suggetions much appreciated... :love30:
      - I have noticed that few of you buy stuff from overseas garden centres, do you know any good american or australian nursery who stocks these beautiful plants? I may buy diff fast growing tropical varieties as they can possibly grow as annuals here in UK..
Now I am feeling like I should have started a new topic to get advise :sofa: So sorry about that!:thud:

Plenty of varieties [of Colocasia and Alocasia] available in UK (Urban Jungle or Amulree are worth a look) ... but not, perhaps, the most impressive ones that they have in the USA. Its Just Too Difficult to import plants in small quantities - phytosantiary certificates are expensive and lots of foreign nurseries don't want the hassle (and who can blame them) and then there are potential plant-killing customs delays.

My advice would be to get Seeds from abroad, through the post, but for any plant you want then find someone in the UK, or Europe, who stocks it and will ship it to you.

I think you should get some. And don't stick to just one single variety in each basket. The mix will look great in my opinion. :wub2:

Only ended up with another 1080 litres today - they had run out of the MPC, and only had the more expensive MPC Plus; it appears that this batch is holding a lot more water at the moment, as the bags were much heavier than the ones I got yesterday, despite being right next to each other.
