I bought 2 tiny skimmia plants from Aldi for £1.50 each. They are ideal for complimenting the xmas tree by the front door. In the spring I will have to find a more suitable spot for them.

Hi @Pushkin , just beware that you've bought 5 male plants so you won't get any berries. I think I'd have bought 2 male and 3 female .

Yeah! I know. I wanted the variegated leaves as I'm going to pot them up for home and work. Also they don't grow that big so would be perfect for what I have in mind.

Haven't got a photo yet, but my new 'baby' is a lovely, shiny, electric-start rotovator. No more dislocated shoulders or bruised boobs :-) All I need now is for the weather gods to stop the incessant rain and it'll be 'all systems go' on the veg plot!

Heehee..already got one of those left over from the renovation! It comes in handy for yanking out dead trees and making planting holes ;-) I'm not allowed to drive it, though....can't think why!

re. KFF's post on Monday - please how do you tell the difference between a male and a female skimmia? Mine has no berries...looks like the male ones.
