They're supposed to be in their dormant state, Sheal, until the end of February but I still don't turn my back on them going out of the Green House:hate-shocked::heehee:

I'm ashamed to say it but I've treated myself again. I'm not a great Coffee drinker but will occasionally make a good brew of fresh ground Coffee in the machine when the fancy takes me. But curious to find out if the Nespresso machine can do a good cup of Coffee I've bought a Nepresso

I also bought some Nepresso mixed flavour capsules and, new on the market, some Star Bucks Nepressor Coffee capsules. I've tried the Nepresso capsules and, to be honest, I'm quite impressed but I haven't tried the Star Bucks capsules yet.:dunno:

A lot of the mainstream coffees are too dark roast for me and contain a lot of Robusta in the blend. Robusta will give you crema but that's not an indicator of good coffee.

Its worth exploring speciality coffee pods. The beans are fresher roasted and will be fresher ground and should be better quality beans. Coffee beans peak at about 10 days to 2 months after roast date and start to deteriorate once ground.

There are links to some of the speciality pod suppliers in this blog Nespresso Compatible Pods & Speciality Coffee? - Coffee Blog Not sure if they are all still making pods and I'm sure that there will be other suppliers out there.

I am a bit of a coffee geek - my machine and grinder

          Hi,

Bron generously bought me a TIG welder and I've added Argon gas cylinder and state of the art welding helmet plus consumables; I'm currently learning TIG welding aluminium. My ambition is to weld up this aluminium petrol tank I've made for the Suffolk Colt mower I've fully restored. I can also now metal spin as can be seen on the tank ends.

          Kind regards, Colin.

My TIG welder. An interesting hobby.

          TIG_0002.JPG

I've been arc welding for 55 years but never tried MIG or TIG welding. Here are some of my practice welds; with each welding session I get a bit better but not yet good enough to have a go at welding the tank yet.

I've been grinding Coffee beans for years, getting the best and freshest beans that I could......all for one Coffee a day. For some reason I find Tea more refreshing and thirst quenching while fresh Coffee has never quenched my thirst but given me that kick and taste that I wanted just for that one time in the day. Having said that, I still had a itch as sometimes I felt it wasn't as good as I wanted. I don't use Tea bags but use the best loose leaf Tea that I can get for the perfect brew.
I'm fairly happy with the Nespresso machine, the pods and it is more convenient and quicker. It'll keep my mind busy exploring the different sources of Nespresso compatible pods . Thanks for the info, Andrews, it really is appreciated.:love30::thumbsup::coffee:

Nespresso machines make a decent cup of coffee and will scratch the coffee itch. Despite that lump of metal on the kitchen side, I only drink one or two cups of coffee a day. I drink more tea than coffee - usually green and white loose leaf tea. Will be interested in your findings with the different coffee pods.

Todays delivery. One to use and one to replace it once it falls out of the secateurs - never to be found

I've used both "Triffid Plants" and "Hampshsire Carnivorous Plants", Andrews, and been in e-mail conversations with both Andy (Triffid) and Matt (Hant) about different plants species and hybrids. This last order was made with Triffid Plants. Both have supplied superb quality plants while also warning/advising me that the plants are in dormancy until around the end of February. Having said that, a lot of the Sarracena arrived with Pitchers undamaged. Triffid use Royal Mail and only send on a Monday, while Hants use DPD, and all were well packaged and in great condition. I might have a peek at Shropshire Carnivorous Plants at Telford and have also joined the Canivorous Plant Society but wouldn't buy from their members as there seems to be too much "argy bargy" between buyers and sellers.
