Not got photos of the actual plants yet, but as I couldn't find anywhere to 'borrow' a cutting from, I decided to treat myself to a couple of these lavateras from Crocus.

They arrived today, only three days after being ordered, and I am now the happy owner of two really healthy looking, 4 to 5ft tall plants :) Packaging that they came in was absolutely first class too.

Very happy indeed, and will almost certainly be buying again from Crocus.

I'll endeavour to get photos once the rain clears tomorrow.

ClaraLou - I do like your Cestrum. Its so nice to see more unusual things being sold. I am growing the normal Cestrum parqui, its in its third year from seed, which is about to flower properly - but I am going to be disappointed after Googling pictures of yours.

Just happened to pop into the local nursery as you do. Got a really nice couple of bulky ferns (Harts Tongue and Japanese Tassel) for a shady border I've got developing and also a handsome Scabiosa Butterfly Blue that needed taking home from the 50% off section.
Had a chat with the nursery chappy who was a bit down at the mouth what with the lousy weather, so buying a few things to cheer him up seemed really the gentlemanly thing to do ...

Will try to get a snap when the hurricane abates :gaah:

Really, really chuffed with them, and think they will look really nice in front of the new fence :)

went shopping again today, and visited a lovely nursery i never knew existed. i'll be going back next week to get a few more plants.
bought 2 crocosmia lucifer, a phormium, a miscanthus giganteus, and another fatsia vari. they had a lovely acacia, but sadly a-it wouldn't fit in the car and b- not hardy enough, but i was tempted.

Went to the rare plants fair at Waterperry and came back with various things including this Veronica Inspire Blue. Too windy to take pics of the others because they were taller, but they included decaisnea fargesii, and Polemonium caeruleum album.

it was was labelled just as a mexican yukka.

it was on its own, shoved at the back amongst trays of bedding.

it is labelled as hardy, growth to a metre max.

will this be ok in free draining sandy soil in a sunny spot? or best potted and moved in the garage/inside/the shed in winter?
